  1. Pet Finders is a great site. Otherwise, check the sites for your local non-kill shelters.

  3. I think the most popular is

However not all shelters use it, so a good idea would be Googling the shelters/rescue groups/humane societies in your area and looking on their individual websites.

That said, since young puppies tend to be more “in-demand,” many of them never make it onto the websites because they are adopted so quickly. The best thing is to just go visit the shelters, and/or call to see what they have. Some will let you tell them what you’re looking for so that if they get a dog like that they’ll contact you.

  4. I would try both of these websites. Petfinder.com is one that is very popular and has a great reputation and another one is; dogster.com You can also contact your local Pet Stores and ask about their rescue programs for adopting pets or any of your local animal shelter’s. Adoption is a great way to go right now, we have too many pets that need good homes. Good luck.

  5. Bonnie Hosier Says:

10 year olds cannot be on this site, you must be at least 13, so reported, see the Community Guidelines. 10 year olds cannot purchase a dog.
